Who are we?
Christ Church West Wimbledon is a Church of England congregation, a Christian church, in South-West London, in the Diocese of Southwark.
We are a blend of the traditional and the contemporary, we are an open, inclusive church serving the people of West Wimbledon. In our worship and in our social life we seek to express and share the love of God which is for everyone. We welcome all, regardless of age, ethnicity, identity politics or church background. Exploring together, we journey towards that fullness of life offered to us through Jesus Christ’s self-sacrificing love. A mixture of those who are strong in their faith with others who are filled with questions and doubt, we encourage a willingness to explore our faith and be ready to be surprised by God. Knowing we are loved, we are ready to share our faith with others helping to build peace and justice in the world.
We hope that you find these pages useful and interesting and look forward to seeing you at Christ Church. If you would like to be in touch with us then we would be very pleased to hear from you. Follow the appropriate links to send us an email or to call us.

“Eighth Sunday of Trinity”
The Transfiguration of the Lord
“Father in heaven, whose Son Jesus Christ was wonderfully transfigured before chosen witnesses upon the holy mountain, and spoke of the exodus he would accomplish at Jerusalem: give us strength so to hear his voice and bear our cross that in the world to come we may see him as he is, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.”
Amen

“Eighth Sunday of Trinity”
The Transfiguration of the Lord
“Holy God, we see your glory in the face of Jesus Christ: may we who have shared at his table reflect his life in word and deed, that all the world may know his power to change and save. This we ask through
Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Amen
Green/World Prayer for–
“Eighth Sunday of Trinity”
The Transfiguration of the Lord
“Lord, we live in a world where things have gone badly wrong because we have forgotten you and put money before morality. We have adopted our own way of life and have not served your Kingdom. We have chosen what pleases us and have not done your will. Lord, forgive us our sin and follies and blindness. Turn us back to yourself, for the sake of your Son, the only Saviour of the world.”
Amen
